Don’t be ungrateful – Ursula Owusu slams Alan Kyerematen.
Minister for Communications and Digitalization, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, stated that Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen should be grateful to former President John Agyekum Kufuor for the opportunity to serve in his government.
According to her, Alan Kyerematen should not act as if former President Kufuor owes him anything, when in fact he should be the one grateful for being given the opportunity to serve out of millions of Ghanaians.
Ursula Owusu-Ekuful also stated that Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen’s claim that former President Kufuor credited him with 70 percent of his policies during his presidency cannot be true.
"I disagree with those who say I've done this or that, because I was given an opportunity to serve, just like everyone else. I can't claim that, as the Minister of Digitalization, Dr. Bawumia shouldn't discuss digitalization, especially when I should feel privileged to serve in that role, considering I wasn't even on the ballot."
"The power was granted to the President and Vice President, so every task we undertake is for them. Therefore, if President Kufuor gave you the opportunity to serve, you should be grateful for being chosen out of millions of Ghanaians."
She further stated that Alan’s claim of contributing 70 percent to the policies of former President John Agyekum Kufuor reflects an exaggerated view of his own performance in the government.
"Is he claiming that 70 percent of President Kufuor’s policies were trade-related? Or that he was the only person in the Kufuor government capable of thinking and coming up with bright ideas? That’s an exaggerated view of his own contributions."
Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, the presidential candidate for the Movement for Change, expressed disappointment with former President John Agyekum Kufuor for endorsing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer in the upcoming general elections.
Expressing his dissatisfaction, Kyerematen highlighted that he has more innovative ideas than the NPP flagbearer and confidently asserted that 70 percent of the policies implemented during Kufuor’s administration were based on his own concepts.
The disagreement arose after Kufuor publicly urged Ghanaians to support Dr. Bawumia in the December polls, praising him as the best candidate to lead the nation amid current global challenges.
