Founder of the International Central Gospel Church
(ICGC) Pastor Mensa Otabil, in a viral video moving on the internet, has stated
that "God is not revealing mysteries to anybody anymore" and there
are no more divine revelations.
This statement has coursed a contention about the
various prophecies from some men of God about the upcoming election of Ghana,
and such claims are personal interpretations rather than divine inspiration.
His remarks have burst into a flame of heated debate about divine revelations.
Pastor Mensa Otabil in the video going viral stated
that; "God has stopped revealing mysteries, I repeat he said, God has
stopped revealing mysteries to anybody, and He is not speaking through
revelation to anyone. His revelation is closed, and He is not adding nor
deducting from any." His comments suggest that the time of God revealing
new mysteries to individuals has been put to an end.
The founder and General Overseer of the International
Central Gospel Church (ICGC) came out with this statement in a stream of
controversial prophecies concerning the upcoming election, from various
prophets predicting conflicting outcomes and naming different candidates as
winners.
Pastor Otabil's statement was made to clear the doubt
on the credibility of these prophecies and suggested that such claims might not
be divinely inspired but rather personal interpretations.
Pastor Otabil has been very concerned about some
Ghanaian pastors' behaviour. In a previous video, he showed how those pastors'
actions tarnish the clergy's image. It has led the public to lose the faith
they have for paster or leaders of the church.
At Desert Pastures in Bolgatanga, where Rev. Eastwood
Anaba worships, pastor Otabil gives his sermon keen the absence of a formal
body to modulate the religious organization, which he believes has allowed
individuals to assume imposing titles like "Bishop" or
"Prophet" without proper probe.
