The Black Queens have been drawn in Group C of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament with defending champions South Africa who have their women's football flying high in recent years, when they beat host nation then Morocco to win that particular Tournament then also in group with Mali, and Tanzania.
The black queens who have been absent since 2018 which was hosted in Accra would look to make a good impression of themselves and also make a statement return into the tournament after missing previous editions. After the take over by coach Nora Hoptel, the team has given Ghanaians something to believe and some motivation for the future that they can do well in this particular competition as they won't just be walk over by Mali and the others in the group.
The only countries Ghana would be shaky against are the like of Zambia who prevented them from going to the Olympics games, group members South Africa who are also hard nuts to crack together with Morocco who have really grown their women's football in these few years, not forgetting the might of Nigeria who have been a torn in the flesh for the queens over the years with stars and Oshola as their leader who currently plays in the United States of America.
As usual everyone in the country would hope for a good tournament but notwithstanding the team must be aided to get some good preparation before the tournament starts next July, as we always know, better and adequate preparations helps every team do their best. I would plead that in there is no good preparations, no one should blame them for a bad tournament we are involved in their success, the new team struggles against bigger opponents and it must be worked on for a successful Women's Cup Of Nations in Morocco.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from 5th July till 26th July, 2025.
