'Mo Salah has told Liverpool to sign me - I've been scoring goals for fun this season'

Mohamed Salah has reportedly urged Liverpool to sign his Egyptian compatriot, Omar Marmoush, following the Eintracht Frankfurt forward’s stunning performances this season. Marmoush has been in sensational form, scoring 14 goals and providing 10 assists across all competitions, helping Frankfurt sit third in the Bundesliga.

According to reports from German newspaper BILD, Salah has personally recommended Marmoush to Liverpool, believing the forward would be a great addition to the squad. Despite interest from Bayern Munich, who have reportedly balked at Marmoush’s £50 million (€60m) price tag, Liverpool could be in a prime position to secure his signature. The 25-year-old’s versatility and ability to play in various attacking roles make him a good fit for the Premier League side.

Salah, who has shared the field with Marmoush at the international level, has also spoken highly of his talent, although he’s urged the public to avoid comparing him to the Liverpool star. Salah believes such comparisons could put undue pressure on his fellow Egyptian and hinder his development. “Omar Marmoush, incredibly talented and currently a key player for his club and the national team. But I hope he can stay away from comparisons because they will keep putting him under constant pressure,” Salah said.

Mohamed Salah’s endorsement of Omar Marmoush extends beyond just praising his abilities. In an interview with WinWin, Salah emphasized the importance of letting Marmoush carve out his own path and avoid the weight of comparisons. The Liverpool star noted that while Marmoush is undoubtedly talented, comparing him to Salah himself could create unnecessary pressure on the young forward.

“I just want him to avoid the idea of comparisons,” Salah explained. “People need to stop comparing him to me, saying he’s ‘the new Salah’ and that he’ll do what I did or even better. This doesn’t help him; it only puts him under constant pressure.” Salah’s words highlight his desire for Marmoush to thrive without the burden of expectations based on his success.

Salah’s recognition of Marmoush’s potential is backed by the forward’s impressive form in the Bundesliga. This season, Marmoush has been central to Frankfurt’s attack, contributing significantly to the team’s third-place standing. His goal-scoring record and playmaking abilities have drawn attention from top clubs, including Liverpool, who are reportedly considering making a move for him.

The potential signing of Marmoush would offer Liverpool added depth in attack, with the versatile forward able to play across various positions. His arrival would also bring a strong Egyptian presence to the squad, as he would join Salah in the Liverpool ranks, forming a potential attacking duo that could benefit both club and country.

Reports suggest that Liverpool may have an edge over other interested clubs, like Bayern Munich, due to their willingness to meet Marmoush’s asking price, which is said to be around £50 million (€60 million). With Salah’s backing, Marmoush could become an important addition to Liverpool’s already talented squad.
