Max Verstappen clinched his fourth consecutive Formula One world title in dramatic fashion during the Las Vegas Grand Prix on Saturday. Despite finishing in fifth place, the 27-year-old Dutchman secured the championship, thanks to his consistency throughout the season. He joined an elite group of drivers—Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, Juan Manuel Fangio, Sebastian Vettel, and Alain Prost—by claiming four world titles.
The race itself saw George Russell of Mercedes take the win, 7.313 seconds ahead of his teammate, Lewis Hamilton, who made a remarkable recovery from 10th on the grid to finish second. McLaren's Lando Norris, Verstappen's main rival for the title, finished in sixth place, effectively ending his championship challenge. Russell’s victory was his first of the season, while the Ferraris of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc secured third and fourth places, respectively. Verstappen’s teammate, Sergio Perez, finished outside the top 10, while McLaren's Oscar Piastri and Haas' Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the points finishers.
The race was marked by strategic pit stops and tire management, with Verstappen showing his usual poise under pressure. He passed several cars throughout the race, including Charles Leclerc, and maintained a solid position to clinch the title. Meanwhile, Norris struggled with tire degradation, further ending his hopes of keeping the title battle alive.
