A daring daylight robbery occurred at approximately 10:00 AM this morning at the First National Bank in downtown Accra. Eyewitnesses report that a group of four masked individuals, armed with handguns and rifles, stormed into the bank, shattering the front glass doors.
The robbers, who were dressed in black, ordered bank employees and customers to lie on the floor while they proceeded to smash open cash registers and vaults. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with the robbers yelling and waving their guns.
The Ghana Police Service responded swiftly to the scene, and a high-speed chase ensued as the robbers attempted to flee in a stolen vehicle. Three suspects have been apprehended, while one remains at large.
The bank's security team reported that the robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries or fatalities have been reported. The police are currently reviewing CCTV footage and conducting interviews with witnesses to gather more information.
