The world is full of stories about those who reached heights, but once fell from this very height: Disney, Spielberg, Stephen King. Their dizzying stories are known to us and to the whole world. But what to do here and now, finding yourself on the edge of an abyss where your dreams risk flying away?
1. Assess the situation, trying to avoid unnecessary emotions. What is done is done. We need to understand why the plan and the whole idea failed. Write down everything that went well and everything you did wrong. Think about what you can do differently next time if you encounter a bad situation again, what or who can help you cope better and ultimately solve this problem. Thorough work on mistakes is the key to locked doors, from past mistakes, and there is no way to repeat them again. Now the new foundation is the experience and knowledge gained in the past, use them to build your business, even if only the second time.
2. Separate your personality from your business. One of the main character traits of an entrepreneur is flexibility. When you started such a risky venture, you probably assumed that things could turn out like this. It is necessary to withstand the blow with dignity and quickly recover from such a mistake in business. Even if you are burned out and have lost a lot, self-confidence should not be on this list. An unsuccessful start to a business does not put an end to you as an entrepreneur.
3. Assess your attitude and mindset regarding the future prospects. It takes more than just a new plan and money to succeed. You need to show determination and a clear positive attitude. All successful world-famous businessmen, in addition to fabulous wealth, are united by optimism. Start by finding a product or service that you are truly passionate about and that fills a niche market. What can you offer? How can you stand out from the multitude of similar projects? Start developing your new business plan. Take the time to do market research and project your business idea into the larger picture.
4. Ask yourself another fundamental question: “Why does this business exist?” If you have a complete understanding of why and why you started all this, you will have a powerful driving force called “motivation”. This is a catalyst that can move things forward and find that very competitive uniqueness.
5. There are no ideal people. But it is in your power to assemble the perfect team. Create your dream team. Involve people who not only have extensive experience in the desired field, but also people of different ages, interests, ways of thinking, and temperament. This set of features will allow employees to complement each other more effectively. Take the time to carefully search and select the right people to fill every position your team needs.
6. Set clear short-term goals. Don't think a hundred steps ahead just yet. Set a time frame for achieving each plan and record the result. This is a roadmap for business.
7. Don't give up, keep trying again and again. In the end, the payback for your hard work will catch up with you, the main thing is not to give up.
