Shatta Wale fires back at Black Sherif over underwear mockery
Ghanaian dancehall icon Shatta Wale has responded forcefully to Black Sherif following a Snapchat post by the latter mocking him for allegedly wearing fake Calvin Klein underwear. The incident, which occurred on November 20, 2024, has sparked a heated debate on social media between the fans of the two artists.
Black Sherif’s playful jab at Shatta Wale did not sit well with the "On God" hitmaker, who fired back during an interview on Angel FM in Kumasi. In a fiery response, Shatta Wale issued a warning to Black Sherif, urging him to tread carefully and not damage their relationship. "Black Sherif, the diamonds I wear are of the highest quality. It'll take him 10 years to afford diamonds like mine," Shatta Wale stated. He further emphasized the value of the diamonds he owns, referencing the high prices of VVS diamonds, which he claimed Black Sherif wouldn’t be able to afford anytime soon.
Shatta also criticized Black Sherif for allegedly allowing industry opinions to influence his behavior. He suggested that Black Sherif should focus on his own path rather than engaging in petty mockery. “He thinks listening to industry players will help him. That’s the problem with our artists who have issues with me. You can’t mock me. He should stop that,” Shatta added.
In his usual brash style, Shatta Wale referenced his history of dominating industry feuds and turning them into opportunities for success. "When I take a beef with you, I will make the song a hit," he declared, alluding to his long-standing feuds with other Ghanaian stars like Samini, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and Yaa Pono. Shatta also compared his approach to feuds to that of a phone network with a broken line, implying that his rivals often fail to succeed in their attempts to take him down.
The feud between the two artists intensified after Shatta Wale criticized Black Sherif’s fashion choices on an episode of the Rants, Bants, and Confessions Podcast. Black Sherif responded with his mocking Snapchat post, which led to Shatta’s further threats, even suggesting he could end the rapper’s career during a live session on X (formerly Twitter).
This back-and-forth has generated significant attention in the entertainment scene, with fans rallying behind their respective stars, turning it into one of the most talked-about celebrity conflicts in recent weeks. Both artists’ supporters have taken sides, fueling the ongoing drama.
