Dolphins Continue Incredible Run with Double Victory Over Titans

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins Ladies continued their extraordinary unbeaten streak this weekend, securing a double victory over the Fidelity Titans in Pretoria, making it an impressive ten wins from ten in the Hollywoodbets Pro Series. With five wins in both the Pro50 and Pro20 formats, the Dolphins remain firmly at the top of both tables after five rounds of fixtures, showcasing their dominance in South African women's cricket.

Saturday’s 50-over match provided plenty of drama, despite being a low-scoring affair. The Dolphins batted first and were bowled out for a modest 112 runs. Namibian international Yasmeen Khan top-scored with a vital 45 runs, which proved crucial in setting a competitive total. While the Dolphins' total seemed underwhelming, their bowling attack was relentless. The Titans struggled to get going, and the Dolphins’ bowlers executed their plans perfectly, bowling the Titans out for just 89 runs. Left-arm spinner Jade de Figueiredo was the standout performer with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for just 16 runs in over seven overs. Supporting her efforts were Seshnie Naidu, Nosihle Ngubane, and Kiara Fisher, each picking up two wickets, ensuring a comprehensive 23-run victory for the Dolphins.

The following day, the Dolphins' dominance was even more evident in the Pro20 clash, which they won by seven wickets with nearly five overs to spare. The Titans batted first but were restricted to a modest total of 116 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs. De Figueiredo continued her outstanding form, taking 3 wickets for just 10 runs in four overs, while Zinhle Mali and Seshnie Naidu chipped in with two wickets each. The Dolphins' fielding was also sharp, contributing two run-outs to the Titans' downfall.

In reply, the Dolphins were in complete control, thanks to a brilliant innings from Nicole de Klerk, who made 72 not out from 41 balls. Her partnership with Alex Candler (26) at the top of the order was crucial, putting on 66 runs for the opening stand and putting the Dolphins firmly in the driver’s seat. Although three quick wickets fell, the chase was never in doubt, and de Klerk, along with Courtney Gounden, guided the team to a bonus-point victory, winning by seven wickets.

The Dolphins now have a break in both competitions before their next fixtures against the DP World Lions Women in Durban on 14 and 15 December. With their incredible consistency and strong performances across both formats, the Dolphins have firmly established themselves as the team to beat in South African women’s cricket.
