President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reportedly declared undying faith in his Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, saying the latter has "never lied" to him in their time in government. The utterance is said to have been made against the backdrop of increasing political arguments over Bawumia's standing and authority in the administration.

In a formal speech at a public ceremony, President Akufo-Addo praised Bawumia for his loyalty and integrity, claiming that their professional relationship has been built on mutual trust. "Dr. Bawumia has never lied to me," Akufo-Addo said while adding that the Vice President has always been candid in their dealings.

These comments from the President, to a large extent, come at a time when the political dynamics in Ghana are gradually changing, with many predicting the next moves of the ruling NPP and the possibility of Bawumia taking center stage. Political observers have hinted at some questions about internal dynamics within the party, but Akufo-Addo's statement seems to have sealed the trust between the two leaders.

Akufo-Addo went ahead to praise Bawumia's contributions to the country's economic policies, especially on digitization and financial inclusion. During Bawumia's helm of affairs, Ghana has witnessed developments in the digitization of services, including the implementation of a mobile money interoperability system and a national digital property addressing system.

The Vice President, long touted as a crucial player in the NPP, also draws praise for his academic background in economics and his part in the nation's economic reforms. His partnership with Akufo-Addo has been seen as a blend of political experience and technical expertise.

Many saw the President's remarks as an endorsement of Bawumia's leadership and credibility, further cementing his position in the party and his standing with supporters. The relation between the two leaders will most likely continue to be one of the main topics in Ghana's political future.
