BREAKING: TRAGEDY STRIKES AS ACCRA-KUMASI BOUND BUS CRASHES, KILLING DOZENS AND INJURING SCORES

A devastating road accident occurred on the Accra-Kumasi Highway in the early hours of yesterday morning, resulting in one of the deadliest crashes in recent Ghanaian history.

According to eyewitnesses, a Neoplan bus carrying over 60 passengers from Accra to Kumasi crashed into a broken-down trailer near the Nkawkaw section of the highway. The impact of the collision caused the bus to burst into flames, trapping many passengers inside.

"I was driving behind the bus when I saw it crash into the trailer," said Kwame Amponsah, an eyewitness. "I quickly pulled over and tried to help, but the fire was too intense. It was like a scene from a horror movie."

The Ghana Police Service and the Ghana National Fire Service responded quickly to the scene, but their efforts were hindered by the intensity of the fire and the remote location of the crash.

"It was a very difficult situation," said Superintendent Alexander Obeng, the commander of the Nkawkaw Police Station. "The fire was spreading fast, and we had to act quickly to rescue as many people as possible."This is a tragic day for Ghana," said President Nana Akufo-Addo in a statement. "My heart goes out to the families of the victims, and I assure them that we will do everything in our power to support them during this difficult time." "This crash is a wake-up call for all of us," said Kwasi Amoako-Atta, the Minister of Roads and Highways. "We need to take a closer look at our roads and our driving habits to ensure that this kind of tragedy never happens again."As the nation mourns the loss of life, officials are urging drivers to exercise caution on the roads and to report any hazards or incidents to the authorities immediately.

"This is a difficult time for all of us, but we must come together to support each other and to ensure that our roads are safe for everyone," said Superintendent Obeng.

The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the crash and is urging anyone with information to come forward.

"We will do everything in our power to get to the bottom of this tragedy and to ensure that justice is served," said Superintendent Obeng.

As the investigation continues, officials are urging drivers to exercise caution on the roads and to report any hazards or incidents to the authorities immediately.

"This is a difficult time for all of us, but we must come together to support each other and to ensure that our roads are safe for everyone," said President Akufo-Addo.
