Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's star forward, has expressed frustration over the lack of contract discussions as his current deal nears its expiration at the end of the season. Despite his remarkable form this year, with 12 goals in all competitions, including a vital brace in a 3-2 win over Southampton, Salah revealed he had not received any offers from the club to extend his stay. This has led him to feel that he is more likely to leave than remain at Liverpool. His comments came after scoring the winning penalty against Southampton, helping Liverpool maintain an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League. Salah made it clear that while he is still dedicated to the team and focused on winning both the Premier League and the Champions League, the lack of contract negotiations has left him disappointed.

The 32-year-old forward, who has been with Liverpool since 2017, shared his surprise at the situation, particularly since December is fast approaching and no offers have been made to extend his time at the club. When asked if he was disappointed by the lack of action on the contract front, Salah confirmed that he was, adding that he still has plenty of years left in his career and is focused on performing at his best. Despite his disappointment, Salah emphasized his love for Liverpool and the fans, acknowledging the strong connection he shares with the club. However, he also pointed out that the decision is no longer in his hands, nor in the fans’ hands, and that the future remains uncertain.

While Salah's future remains unclear, a source from the club has reassured that communication between Liverpool and Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, has been ongoing and positive. Liverpool fans will be watching closely as the player’s contract situation evolves, especially considering that key figures like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk are also set to be out of contract at the same time. In 2023, the club turned down a massive £150 million offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad for Salah, showing their desire to retain the forward. Salah’s recent comments, combined with his continued stellar performances on the pitch, have left many wondering if Liverpool will act swiftly to secure his future at the club or if he will be on his way out come the summer.
