Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president of the Republic of Ghana has urged all Ghanaians to denil the presidential proposer of the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama in the oncoming election. According to Nana Addo, the previous administration handed by John Mahama from the year 2012 to 2016 was misfiring and does not need a second chance.
The president made this statement on Sunday, November 24, 2024, when delivering his speech to a professional group in Kumasi. He highlighted Mahama’s lack of a second term as evidence of his “failed leadership”.
"Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor and I have all served second terms except John Mahama. The reason he was rejected is because his performance was underwhelming. What is he coming to do?" He made these comments.
"You couldn’t keep the lights on for 12 hours when you were president, how can you deliver a 24-hour economy? Please don’t let anybody be confused by him." The President questioned the feasibility of the NDC’s proposed 24-hour economy policy.
For the upcoming elections on December 7, 2024, the president of Ghana urged all Ghanaians to vote for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to be the next president of Ghana for a better future.
With his experience and integrity, Nana Akufo-Addo referred to this making a comment and said, "Let us vote for a candidate who is prepared from eight years in opposition as my running mate and his eight-year term as Vice President and a man of unimpeachable integrity."
This affirmation draws our attention to a similar call by former President John Agyekum Kufuor, who currently advocated for Dr Bawumia as the ideal candidate to lead Ghana’s economy towards recovery and growth. Both leaders stressed that Bawumia’s economic expertise makes him the best choice for Ghana’s future.
