In a bid to address Ghana's unemployment challenges, former President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has proposed an innovative formula as part of their 24-hour economy vision. The formula, which has garnered significant attention posits that, one job can be equivalent to three shifts, with three workers sharing the role. This is known as formula 1 3 3 (1 job, 3 shifts, 3 workers).

This approach aims to increase job opportunities and reduce unemployment rates in Ghana especially among the youthful generation; By dividing a single job into three shifts, more individuals can be employed, leading to a reduction in unemployment figures.

John Mahama's formula 1 3 3 has been met with great interest; and its feasibility and potential impact on the economy, according to many Ghanaians is rest assured. Experts have also stated that, it could lead to increased employment opportunities, improved work-life balance, and enhanced economic growth.

As Ghana continues to grapple with poor living conditions and unemployment challenges, innovative solutions like former President Mahama's 24-hour economy formula could be a real game changer; especially to the young Ghanaians.

Directly opposite to the NDC's formula 1 3 3, is a worrying new trend which has emerged in Ghana, where a significant number of individuals are resorting to eating only one meal a day. This phenomenon has been termed "1, 0, 0 or 0, 1, 0," symbolizing the pattern of consuming a single meal, either in the morning (1, 0, 0) or afternoon (0, 1, 0), with no additional meals for the rest of the day.

Ghana, once considered a beacon of hope and stability in West Africa, is facing a devastating crisis. The country's poor governance and mismanagement of the economy by President Nana Addo and his Vice Dr. Bawumia, have led to this shocking new living reality (formula 1, 0, 0, or 0, 1, 0); many Ghanaians can no longer afford three square meals a day.

The situation has become so dire that people are being forced to wait until noon before eating their first meal of the day...mostly very heavy food like Beans and Gari (Gobe), Kenkey and Pepper sometimes without fish, etc. After that, it's all about drinking water until the next day. This alarming trend is not only a reflection of the country's economic woes but also a clear indication of the government's failure to address the basic needs of its citizens.

The people of Ghana especially our young one deserve better. They deserve a government that prioritizes their needs and takes concrete steps to address the challenges they face. It is time for the New Patriotic Party's (NPP)government to be voted out of power and John Mahama given the job. We need a government who can take that up the responsibility and work towards creating a brighter future for all Ghanaians.
