The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has assured the public that all the necessary materials for the upcoming 2024 elections, including ballot papers and biometric verification devices, will be delivered to every region by the end of the week. As of now, the EC has completed the distribution of ballots to 13 out of the 16 regions in the country. The remaining regions, which include the Northern, Bono, and Bono East regions, are expected to receive their materials by the afternoon of the day in question. This ensures that the electoral preparations are nearly complete, with the commission confident that all the remaining tasks will be finalized soon.

In a recent meeting with the National Elections Security Taskforce, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa emphasized the preparedness of the commission for the elections. She assured the public that the electoral register has been finalized and distributed nationwide. The ballot papers, which are essential for both the presidential and parliamentary elections, are already in place for the majority of the regions. The EC's readiness extends to ensuring that all the materials are securely stored, with the police armouries in each region serving as the holding locations. Jean Mensa expressed her confidence that the outstanding ballot papers would be delivered promptly to the remaining regions without delay.

Meanwhile, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the head of the National Elections Security Taskforce, also provided a statement reaffirming the commitment of the security agencies to ensure a peaceful and smooth election process. He highlighted the readiness of the security forces to safeguard the integrity of the elections and protect all stakeholders involved. Dr. Dampare emphasized that maintaining peace and order during the election is a priority for the security agencies, and they are fully prepared to address any challenges that might arise. Both the EC and the security agencies have made it clear that they are united in their effort to hold a peaceful election that is in the best interests of the nation, and all logistics are in place to facilitate a successful and secure process.
