Rev. Osei Kofi, a former Asante Kotoko player, revealed that the team once turned down a Malaysian team's bid to construct a stadium in Kumasi.

The 1965 AFCON champion Kafui Dey disclosed in an interview that the Malaysian squad had indicated an interest in building a stadium and branding it after their brand, much like Arsenal did with Emirates Stadium.

According to Rev. Osei, Kotoko officials, including Kennedy Agyapong and Opoku Nti, pushed to make the transfer happen, but the club's administration rejected their efforts.

Was Emirates, an Arsenal stadium, constructed by the locals? The stadium is named after the Emirates, not the other way around. Ghana experienced similar events. A Malaysian team that wanted to construct a stadium for Kotoko and put their name on it was brought in by Opoku Nti and Kennedy, but they were turned away, he recalled.

However, the renowned player left open the question of the reasoning behind the decision by failing to explain why the proposition was turned down.

The Porcupine Warriors lost up on a golden chance that was brought to light by Rev. Osei's revelation.

Baba Yara Stadium, which is owned by the state, is where Kotoko plays its home games.

On Wednesday, November 27, the GFA Executive Council will examine Otto Addo's Technical Report on AFCON.

On Wednesday, November 27, Black Stars head coach Otto Addo will meet with the Ghana Football Association's (GFA) Executive Council to discuss the team's performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The technical report that Addo produced, which assessed the Black Stars' performance during the qualifiers and the technical team's overall performance under his direction, will be the main focus of this important conference.

The Executive Council decided to meet with the coach last Wednesday to talk about the report and the team's performance since Addo took over earlier this year, which led to this conclusion.

The GFA announced the meeting in a statement, emphasizing its significance in deciding the future course of Ghana's national football team.

The statement said, "On November 27, 2024, the Executive Council will meet with Mr. Otto Addo, the Head Coach of the Black Stars, to discuss his technical report on the recently concluded AFCON qualifiers and the overall performance of the technical team since assuming duty earlier this year."

The discussion will also serve to clarify the Black Stars' inability to earn a spot in the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

There has been a lot of debate over the Black Stars' future after the sad outcome, and this meeting should provide some information about the GFA's future plans.
