The porcupine warriors Kumasi Asante Kotoko has announced that club legend Malik Jabiru would take over from coach James Akwasi Appiah as the new technical director, but not withstanding the former technical director would still be part of the management and also double as the head coach of the Sudanese national team.
This is also the second addition of the week after Amos Frimpong's own.
In other good news for the republic of Ghana, The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has on Monday, 25th November 2025, commissioned the newly constructed state-of-the-art Atafoa bridge at Suame in the Bantama Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
The bridge has been a major worry to people who use the Kumasi Road for several years due to perennial flooding, thereby inflicting serious difficulty and sometimes death on all who intend to cross whenever there is heavy rainfall.
According to Roads Minister, and Member of Parliament for Bantama, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye, the devastating impacts of flooding on this stretch are well known to everyone known to us. For years, residents have lived in fear, especially during the rainy season. Tragic incidents, including the loss of three lives last year and six lives the previous year, serve as a painful reminder of the urgent need.
The construction of the Atafoa-Owabi bridge by the Akufo-Addo government involved the rehabilitation of the 4-kilometer Abrepo Junction-Barekese-Offinso Road with Asphaltic Concrete Surfacing, terminating at Kokoben.
It has also seen the construction of roadside concrete drains and major cross culverts to improve drainage on the road and the construction of a forty-metre span reinforced Concrete Bridge at Atafoa over River Nwabi.
The final asphalt road works have been substantially completed including road line markings, signages and all ancillary works to improve visibility and pedestrian safety on the bridge.
He said, government is executing a series of strategic initiatives in the Manhyia North, Manhyia South, Nhyiaeso, Oforikrom, Asokwa, Suame, Kwadaso, Old Tafo, Bosomtwe, Atwima-Nwabiagya North, Atwima-Nwabiagya South, Atwima Kwanwoma, and my beloved Bantama constituency.
“These projects have led to significant improvements in road conditions, transforming previously inaccessible areas into well-connected thoroughfares. This effort aligns with our broader strategic vision to solidify the Asante Region's position as a key driver of economic growth and development.”
Commissioning the bridge, President Akufo-Addo said, it is no secret that infrastructure development has been a central pillar of this government's development agenda.
“Since 2017, we have invested significantly in road projects across the country, with a deliberate focus on improving connectivity, reducing travel times and enhancing safety, he added.
