Sampson Eduku, a former attacker for Tamale City, has formally started training with Asante Kotoko in anticipation of a potential transfer.

The 28-year-old ended his stint with the Iraqi powerhouse Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and is now single.

After his daring performance for Tamale City FC in the Ghana Premier League 2022–2023 season, Eduku joined Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in August 2023.

Before leaving for better opportunities, the 28-year-old forward made 27 appearances in the Ghanaian top division, tallying 14 goals and dishing out three assists.

The former Samartex forward has returned to Ghana after a brief time in Iraq in anticipation of a potential move during the second transfer window.

On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, Eduku began training with Asante Kotoko to join the team during the next transfer window.

But before signing a deal with the record Premier League winners, the gifted forward must win over the Porcupine Warriors' technical staff.

According to Prosper Narteh Ogum, coach of Asante Kotoko, the Porcupine Warriors would add players to their roster in the second transfer window.

"I believe that we will essentially continue to develop the team in the departments where we need to in the second round. Thus, without a doubt, we will do it," he stated.

George Alhassan criticizes the Black Stars assistant coaches for refusing to assist Otto Addo.

Legendary Ghanaian football player George Alhassan has attacked the Black Stars' assistant coaches, claiming they are not assisting Otto Addo.

His remarks follow the Black Stars' first 20-year absence from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament qualifying round.

With three points from three draws and three losses, Ghana finished last in Group F.

Alhassan, an AFCON winner in 1982, criticized the assistant coaches for not supporting head coach Otto Addo in light of the team's lackluster performance.

"They need to have performed better because it doesn't seem like they are assisting the coach. He told Citi Sports, "I don't see anything that indicates they are assisting the coach."

"You collaborate with your technical staff if you are a coach and have one. Or perhaps they are scared to make the coach a suggestion. He continued, "I don't think things like this would have happened if they had worked together, but maybe everything is the coach, so they also sit and watch him."

The first assistant coach, John Paintsil, the second assistant coach, Joseph Laumann, and the goalkeeper's trainer, Fatawu Dauda, make up the Black Stars' coaching staff.
