In 2016, then-candidates Nana Addo and Bawumia made numerous promises to Ghanaians during their campaign. However, a review of their tenure reveals that many of those promises remain unfulfilled. Here are 5 of the most glaring examples
- One District, One Factory: The NPP promised to establish a factory in every district to boost local economies. However, many districts are still waiting for their factories
- One Village, One Dam: The NPP promised to build a dam in every village to provide irrigation for farmers. However, many villages are still without dams.
- Free SHS: While the NPP did implement free SHS, the program has been plagued by issues such as overcrowding, underfunding, and poor infrastructure.
- $1 Million Per Constituency: The NPP promised to allocate $1 million to every constituency to support development projects. However, many constituencies have not received their allocated funds.
- Job Creation: The NPP promised to create jobs for the youth. However, Ghana's unemployment rate remains high, with many young people struggling to find employment.
These unfulfilled promises are a clear indication that the NPP is not committed to the welfare of Ghanaians. Their failure to deliver on their promises has resulted in widespread suffering, poverty, and discontent.
Again; these failed promises have eroded trust in the NPP and its leadership. As Ghanaians head to the polls on December 7, they will be looking for a change in leadership. Bawumia, as the NPP's candidate, will likely face the brunt of the dissatisfaction with the current government.
Also, it is surprising to note that each of these 5 failed promises of Nana Addo is indeed 5 points lost against Dr Bawumia, and these will cause his downfall in the election.
With the December 7, 2024, election just around the corner, tensions are running high. As conversations unfold, it's clear that many Ghanaians are frustrated with unfulfilled promises made by Nana Addo and Dr. Bawumia, and are eager to make their voices heard at the polls.
So in brief, the current trouble Dr. Bawumia finds himself in is that, come December 7, 2024, Ghanaians voters are going to visit the sins of president Nana Addo on him (Bawumia). and vote against him.
