Chelsea moved one step closer to the knockout stage of the Europa Conference League after securing a 2-0 victory over Heidenheim in Germany, maintaining their perfect start to the competition. The Blues, who have now won all four of their group-stage matches, remain at the top of the 36-team standings. The game was largely shaped by Christopher Nkunku, whose first-half goal set Chelsea on their way to another win. The French forward, who had previously played in Germany for RB Leipzig, showed his clinical finishing by controlling a pass from Jadon Sancho with one touch before coolly slotting the ball past the Heidenheim goalkeeper. Nkunku’s goal, his fifth in the group stage, marked his 11th in all competitions for Chelsea this season.

Despite Chelsea’s dominance, Heidenheim proved to be their toughest challenge in the competition so far. The hosts tested Chelsea’s defense, with goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen stepping up to make crucial saves. Jorgensen’s standout moment came in the first half, when he denied 18-year-old Paul Wanner with an exceptional one-handed stop. After Nkunku’s opener, the goalkeeper was again called into action, this time saving efforts from Leo Scienza and Wanner, both of whom threatened to bring Heidenheim level. Jorgensen's performance was key to Chelsea’s victory, keeping their clean sheet intact despite the relentless pressure from the Bundesliga side. Heidenheim’s efforts to break through Chelsea’s defense were commendable, but they could not convert their chances.

In the final stages of the match, Mykhailo Mudryk made sure of the win with a well-placed shot into the top corner in the 86th minute, effectively sealing the three points for Chelsea. The game ended on a sour note for the visitors as midfielder Cesare Casadei received a red card in the sixth minute of added time for a second yellow card offense. This did little to dampen Chelsea’s spirits, however, as they had already ensured the win. The victory extended Chelsea’s perfect run in the group phase, and despite the tough test from Heidenheim, the Blues look poised to advance to the knockout stages. Their commanding performance continues to demonstrate their strength in the competition, with Chelsea’s attacking and defensive units both contributing to the impressive result.
