Ensuring Peace and Transparency in Kusaug: A Call for Support in the Upcoming Elections
As the December 7th elections draw closer, we express our profound gratitude to the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana for its dedication to upholding democratic values. The Commission’s commitment to ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections is commendable, and we extend our trust to Ghana’s security agencies, whose professionalism and competence are crucial in maintaining peace and order during this critical period.
We especially emphasize the importance of security within the Kusaug Region, with particular attention to the Bawku municipality. Elections are a cornerstone of democracy, and every legitimate citizen must be granted the opportunity to exercise their constitutional right to vote. We, therefore, urge the security agencies to act decisively against anyone who seeks to disrupt the electoral process or jeopardize the safety of voters and officials.
It is disheartening that certain unscrupulous individuals continue to challenge the authority of the state, disregarding court injunctions and even rulings from the Supreme Court—the highest judicial body in Ghana. These actions not only undermine the rule of law but also threaten the peace and stability of the Bawku municipality. Such individuals must not be allowed to deny the people of Bawku their right to participate in the democratic process.
We call on the security forces to ensure the safety of Electoral Commission officials and voters alike. Any attempt to harm election officials or disrupt the process must be met with a firm and decisive response. It would be an affront to the competence and credibility of our security agencies if the people of Bawku are denied their right to vote due to the unlawful actions of a few.
To all citizens of Kusaug, we urge you to actively participate in the upcoming elections. Your vote is your voice, and your involvement is essential in shaping the future of our region and the nation. Let us come together, united and resolute, to demonstrate our commitment to peace and democracy.
We also extend our assurance to Ghanaians and all stakeholders that the elections in the Kusaug Region will be peaceful and orderly. We remain confident that with the collaborative efforts of the Electoral Commission, security agencies, and the people, the elections will be conducted smoothly, and the democratic will of the people will prevail.
In conclusion, let us remind ourselves of the importance of respecting the laws of the land and safeguarding the democratic process. Together, we can ensure a successful election that reflects the true aspirations of the people of Kusaug and Ghana as a whole.
Thank you.
