Omotola Jalade Hospitalized, Battling Life-Threatening Illness

Famous Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde recently opened up about her battle with a life-threatening illness, sharing her story of surviving gallbladder surgery. In an emotional Instagram video, the 46-year-old actress expressed deep gratitude to God for her life and health, revealing the shocking ordeal she endured.

Omotola recounted how, despite being told by doctors that there was nothing more they could do, she still felt like she was dying. She urged her followers to join her in thanking God for her recovery, adding that her initial caption had been lost in her post and was less passionate than her first attempt.

The actress detailed the timeline leading up to her surgery, explaining how she had been preparing for her films while grappling with intense back and chest pains. These pains led to two visits to the emergency room in a single week, where doctors initially attributed her symptoms to high blood pressure and severe acid reflux. After receiving treatment, she was sent home, feeling somewhat better, and resumed her usual activities, including attending a screening of Gladiator 2. However, during the viewing, she was unable to sit up due to the lingering pain.

After the movie, Omotola knew something was seriously wrong. She began vomiting uncontrollably throughout the night until she had nothing left to throw up. By morning, a debilitating stomach pain set in, prompting her to be rushed to the emergency room for a third time. This time, doctors immediately ordered a CT scan, ultrasound, and MRI. The results showed that her gallbladder was severely dilated, and the doctors were astonished that she hadn’t experienced more severe pain up until that point. Despite the intense discomfort, Omotola had been pushing through.

The doctors quickly determined that surgery was required to remove her gallbladder, and she underwent the procedure without delay. In her post, Omotola expressed disbelief at how she had managed to live with such a serious condition for so long, and she reflected on the deep emotional toll the experience took on her. Through it all, she expressed her immense gratitude for surviving and for being given a second chance at life.
