STONEBWOY WINS ARTISTE OF THE YEAR AT GHANA MUSIC AWARDS UK 2024

Stonebwoy has further solidified his status as a global music icon by winning two major awards at the 2024 Ghana Music Awards UK. The Dancehall/Reggae star took home the prestigious Artiste of the Year award, alongside the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year title, during the star-studded ceremony held at the Meridian Grand in London on Saturday, November 30, 2024.

Stonebwoy, whose career continues to rise globally, was celebrated for his contribution to the music industry, both in Ghana and internationally. His triumph at the awards ceremony reflects his influence and popularity within the Reggae and Dancehall genres. The event, which had been postponed from October 29 to November 30, was graced by key figures in Ghana’s music scene, including King Ayisoba, Joseph Matthew, Fuse ODG, and Akosua Agyapong.


Stonebwoy’s recognition was just one of the many highlights of the evening. Other notable award winners included King Promise, who won Most Popular Song of the Year for his track Terminator, and Sarkodie, who claimed Hip Hop/Hiplife Artiste of the Year and Best Rapper of the Year. Additionally, the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Akosua Adjepong, an iconic vocalist who has had a significant impact on Ghana’s music industry over the years.

Other winners on the night included Nacee, who won Gospel Artiste of the Year, and Kuami Eugene, who took home Highlife Artiste of the Year. In the emerging talent category, King Paluta won New Artiste of the Year, and Kwesi Amewuga was awarded Uncovered Artiste of the Year.

The night also celebrated excellence in various categories, including music production, songwriting, and video production. The Producer of the Year award went to Killbeatz for his work on Terminator by King Promise, while the Best Music Video of the Year was awarded to My Praise by Estelle Safowaa ft. Nacee.

International categories were also recognized, with Charles Kalah winning UK-Based Artiste of the Year and DJ FiiFii taking home UK-Based Best DJ of the Year. The evening concluded with emotional tributes, including Special Honoree Awards for Ofori Amponsah and Mark Darlington, who were recognized for their longstanding contributions to the Ghanaian music industry.


The Ghana Music Awards UK 2024 was a testament to the vibrant and diverse talent in the Ghanaian music scene, showcasing both established artists and rising stars.
