Prince David Osei, a Ghanaian actor has urged all security personnel to make wise and informed choices by voting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the special voting exercise that will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024.
In a post shared on his official Instagram page on November 30, 2024, the vocal NPP supporter emphasized the importance of this year’s elections, especially for security agencies. He cautioned that voting for the "wrong candidate" could undo the progress achieved by the current NPP government in strengthening the security forces.
David Osei states that the NPP government has greatly strengthened the effectiveness of security agencies by investing in logistics, resources, and infrastructure.
“I urge you to carefully consider the progress and support the NPP government has provided for you in the security forces. Thanks to their efforts, you have received better equipment, training, technologies, and facilities that have elevated your profession and enhanced your effectiveness,” he wrote.
The actor also mentioned a video that reportedly shows members of the opposition party the National Democratic Congress (NDC) threatening to remove certain security officers if they gain power. David Osei warned security personnel to avoid supporting a party that will jeopardize their stability and rather embrace the one that will help them.
“It is essential that you make informed decisions when casting your votes, as the wrong choice could jeopardise all the advancements we have seen. Let us not forget the threats made by certain individuals to harm and dismiss members of the security forces if they come into power,” he added.
The actor ended his statement by urging security personnel to prioritise the nation’s safety and security in their decisions, voting wisely to safeguard progress and ensure a secure future for themselves and the country. “Stay informed, stay vigilant, and together, let all of you safeguard your profession and the nation you serve,” he stated.
