Davido Announces Fifth Studio Album for Early 2025, Teases Collaboration with Odumodublvck and Chike
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed plans to release his highly anticipated fifth studio album in early 2025. The artist shared the news during an interview on The Baller Alert Show, expressing excitement about the project while withholding specific details such as the album’s title, featured artists, and exact release date.
“This will be a real African record,” Davido hinted, suggesting that the album will showcase rich African influences and sounds.
Davido also teased an upcoming collaboration titled Funds, which is set to drop in a few days. The track features Odumodublvck, whom Davido hailed as the “biggest Nigerian rapper,” and Chike, whom he likened to American R&B artist Bryson Tiller.
“We have another coming in a couple of days. It’s called Funds. I featured the current biggest Nigerian rapper, Odumodublvck, and the Nigerian Bryson Tiller, girls love him—his name is Chike,” Davido shared enthusiastically.
The 32-year-old, born David Adeleke, emphasized his commitment to staying in Nigeria despite opportunities to relocate abroad. “I have to stay tapped in because why run away from home when others are running there now?” he said, underscoring his connection to his roots and the growing global attention on Nigerian music and culture.
