Assistant Divisional Officer Grade One (ADO1) Alex King Nartey of the Public Affairs Department of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has debunked reports claiming that actress Jackie Appiah’s house at Trasacco caught fire.

The rumors began circulating on the evening of Friday, October 11, when TV personality Mona Gucci shared a video on Instagram showing a house engulfed in flames. In her post, she alleged that the property belonged to Jackie Appiah. Other reports also echoed this claim, fueling widespread speculation.

However, Alex King Nartey has clarified the situation, stating that the house affected by the fire does not belong to Jackie Appiah. In a Facebook post dated October 12, he explained that checks with the GNFS response team revealed that the property in question is owned by Madam Samira, Jackie Appiah’s manager.

“After confirming with our responding crew, the affected house belongs to Madam Samira, Jackie Appiah’s manager, and it was the cinema room of the house that got affected by the fire,” Nartey wrote. He further noted that only a portion of the house was impacted, dispelling any concerns about significant damage.

This update puts to rest the misinformation that had been spreading on social media, with many assuming the acclaimed actress’s residence had been involved. The GNFS officer’s statement underscores the importance of verifying facts before sharing information, especially in situations that could cause alarm or distress.

The incident highlights the potential for social media to amplify unverified reports, leading to widespread public concern. Alex Nartey’s timely clarification helped address the confusion, ensuring that the facts of the matter were set straight.

While the incident was unfortunate for Madam Samira, it is a relief to learn that the damage was limited to a single area of her home. The GNFS response team’s efforts likely prevented further escalation, underscoring the importance of their work in emergencies.

This clarification serves as a reminder to rely on credible sources and official statements during such incidents. It also emphasizes the need for responsible reporting and sharing of information to prevent unnecessary panic or misrepresentation of facts.
