Osman Bukari Donates Sports Equipment to Schools in Kwahu Mamfe and Neighboring Villages
Renowned Ghanaian footballer Osman Bukari has extended a heartwarming gesture to support education and sports development in his hometown and its neighboring communities. Bukari, who currently plays for the Black Stars and Red Star Belgrade, donated a full set of jerseys, footballs, and socks to schools, including both primary and junior high schools (JHS), in Kwahu Mamfe and six other villages in the area.
The beneficiary communities include Kwahu Mamfe, Muramura, Atuobikrom, Koranteng, Formanso, Yirenkyikrom, and Sukwa. This initiative is part of Bukari’s commitment to giving back to his roots and inspiring the next generation through sports.
During the presentation ceremony, Bukari expressed his gratitude for the support he has received from these communities throughout his career. “This is where my journey began, and it’s only right that I give back to the people and the places that shaped me,” he said. “Sports can transform lives, and I hope these items will encourage young talents to pursue their dreams.”
The donated items included high-quality football kits, enough to outfit complete school teams, alongside durable footballs and socks. These resources are expected to enhance physical education programs and promote sports among schoolchildren in the area.
Local leaders and school authorities lauded Bukari’s philanthropic effort. The Headmaster of Kwahu Mamfe JHS, Mr. Emmanuel Agyekum, praised the footballer’s generosity, stating, “This gesture will not only provide our students with the necessary tools to engage in sports but also serve as a motivation to achieve excellence both on and off the field.”
Chiefs and elders from the communities also commended Bukari, describing him as a role model for the youth. They highlighted how his success story serves as an example of what can be achieved through hard work, discipline, and a commitment to community values.
The donation has brought excitement to the young football enthusiasts in the villages, many of whom aspire to follow in Bukari’s footsteps. “Having someone like him support us shows that he hasn’t forgotten where he comes from. It gives us hope that we can also succeed,” said Kwadwo Asare, a JHS student from Koranteng.
Bukari’s charitable efforts underscore the importance of investing in grassroots development. By equipping young students with the resources needed to thrive in sports, he is not only fostering talent but also contributing to the holistic development of his hometown and its surroundings.
This act of kindness has left an indelible mark on Kwahu Mamfe and its neighboring villages, further cementing Osman Bukari’s legacy as a true son of the land.
