Among the most notable are Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, Lille’s Jonathan David, and Simons. However, it’s the 21-year-old Dutchman who stands out, especially due to the praise he received from Ten Hag.
Ten Hag was particularly impressed by Simons during Euro 2024, especially after his brilliant performance in the semi-final against England, where he scored a memorable goal. Speaking about the youngster, Ten Hag praised Simons' passion, drive, and ability to read the game, highlighting how his style of play contrasts with traditional Dutch techniques, likening it more to a southern European flair.
Simons began his career in Barcelona’s youth ranks before moving to PSG in 2019.
