Sefa parts ways with D-Black’s Avenue Muzik

Sefadzi Abena Amesu, professionally known as Sefa, is a talented Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and performer who is making significant strides in the music industry. With three years of experience under her belt, Sefa continues to rise and gain recognition for her contributions to Ghana's vibrant music scene.

Born on May 7, 1995, in the Northern Region of Ghana, Sefa hails from Afife, a village located in the Volta Region. She grew up as the second of four children, with her father being from the Volta Region and her mother from the Northern Region, reflecting a rich cultural background. Sefa attended the prestigious Ola Girls Senior High School, graduating in 2014, and later pursued higher education, earning a Diploma in Purchasing and Supply from Accra Technical University in 2017.

Sefa's journey into music began during her time at university, where she showcased her vocal talent on her Instagram page and performed at various events. Her big break came in 2017 when she received a text from Ghanian musician D-Black, inviting her to sign with his newly established record label, Black Avenue Muzik. Eager to embark on her musical career, Sefa signed a four-year contract with the label and quickly released her debut single, Marry Me, featuring the artist Jupiter.

Since then, Sefa has released an impressive catalog of hits, solidifying her position in the Ghanaian music landscape. Some of her well-known songs include Odo Yewu, Memories, Wanti Wanti, Magyi featuring Medikal, and Playa featuring Wendy Shay. Her collaborations with other artists, such as Shuga with Dope Nation, Echoke with Mr. Drew, and Ankonam with Fameye, have further expanded her reach and appeal.

In 2020, Sefa released her debut album titled Growth, showcasing her artistic evolution and versatility as a musician. As one of the leading female artists in Ghana, she continues to achieve great success across various genres.
