The December 2024 general elections in Ghana is just around the corner, with just a day to the final showdown.
As the clock 'clicks' close to the 'D-day', Ghanaians keep wondering if the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) can still maintain its hold on power considering the growing popularity of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), and it's flagbearer John Dramani Mahama.
As discussions heat up, many Ghanaians are still reflecting on the past eight years of extreme hardships under this NPP government, headed by President Nana Akufo Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Ghana's economy under this president and his vice has gone through many challenges, with the Ghanaian cedi experiencing significant depreciation against the US dollar. This has led to soaring prices of essential commodities, including fuel, food; and also poor living conditions in the country.
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, the only fearless high-ranking NPP member; who is also the Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, sometimes had been very vocal and constantly spoken against his party's bad governance.
A year ago, Hon Agyapong made a bold and courageous comment which many viewed as a prophetic statement. Speaking at a rally ground on September 2023, he stated that, his NPP party had effectively lost the 2024 elections ahead, due to the cedi's depreciation. Hon Agyapong had also condemned the bad leadership of President Nana Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, citing their failure to address the high cost of living and corruptions within their government.
As Ghana prepares for the big day on December 7, voters must remember the importance of choosing an experience candidate with integrity. The National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by the experience and visionary leader, John Dramani Mahama is set for a great come-back as happened with Donald Trump in the United States of America. (USA).
The former president, has promised to address the economic struggles and restore hope to the Ghanaian people especially the younger generation.
