What Mahama said at NDC's last campaign rally.
My brothers and sisters, my beloved Ghanaian youth, the time is now! It is time to replace fear with hope, poverty with development, and insecurity with safety for all. The time to restore Ghana’s economic fortunes is now, and on Saturday, we have the power to make that change.
This election is not just another event. It is a defining moment for our nation—a choice between the Ghana we have and the Ghana we want. Our youth deserve a country where their dreams are realized, workers deserve sustainable, well-paying jobs, and public sector employees deserve recognition, stability, and fairness. Entrepreneurs should have a fair market to thrive, and women and girls must be empowered to reach their full potential. Every Ghanaian deserves leadership that prioritizes the people, fights corruption, and builds a nation we can all take pride in.
I am committed to building a stable and viable 24-hour economy that creates millions of jobs and combats inflation to make food affordable. My administration will implement the leanest government in our history, with no more than 60 ministers and deputies. We will cut wasteful spending, scrap ex-gratia payments, and wage a relentless war on corruption through Operation Return All Loot (ORAL) to recover stolen funds for Ghana’s development.
Empowering women will be a cornerstone of my presidency. My running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, embodies our commitment to gender equality. We plan to establish a Women’s Development Bank to support women-owned businesses, from tabletop traders to large-scale enterprises.
Fellow Ghanaians, your vote is your voice, your power, and the key to unlocking Ghana’s future. This is not a decision for another time or generation; this is our moment. Let us vote to reset our democracy, governance, economy, and all we hold dear. Together, we will reject despair and choose hope, reject impunity and choose respect.
I remind you, comrades, that power must be wielded responsibly. We must hold ourselves to higher standards than the current administration. The trust placed in us must be honored with integrity and fairness.
On December 7, vote for John Mahama. I promise to work with you to build a Ghana we can all be proud of. Let us police and protect our votes and ensure a peaceful, fair election. Change starts with us, and the time is now.
