Rosemary Zimu Shares Insights on Her Acting Journey
South African actress Rosemary Zimu recently shared insights into how she found her way into acting, revealing that it was more of a natural calling than a conscious career choice. Speaking with host Noella Kharyne Yalley on Daybreak Hitz, Rosemary explained that acting "chose [her]," a sentiment she believes was for a reason. She highlighted that she never had to make a difficult decision about pursuing acting, as it was something that came organically to her.
This revelation came just before the premiere of the movie Nine, directed by Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh, which aired on November 29, 2024, on Hitz 103.9 FM. During the interview, Rosemary reflected on her journey in acting, expressing gratitude that she has never felt unfulfilled by the profession, either financially or personally. "One thing I'll always be grateful for is that I've never felt acting is unfulfilling, whether financially or personally," she shared.
As a versatile talent, Rosemary is also a singer-songwriter and has starred in several popular projects, including Savage Beauty and Guarded. She emphasized the physical demands of acting, especially when preparing for some of the more action-packed scenes in Nine. "I had never fought before, never held a sword before, and now I had to go into training to ensure I was fit enough to keep up with Chris Attoh," she explained, describing the rigorous physical training she undertook for the role.
In addition to the physical challenges, Rosemary's faith plays a significant role in her journey. She expressed her belief that God always guides her path, making the difficult moments easier to bear. "I know God will never put me in a place where I'll suffer forever," she said.
Nine features a star-studded cast, including actors from Ghana, South Africa, Nigeria, and the US. Alongside Rosemary Zimu, the film stars notable actors such as Damien Smith, Adjetey Annan, Kate Henshaw, Fred Amugi, Juliet Ibrahim, Zynnel Zuh, Sika Osei, and Ijeoma Grace Agu, among others. Rosemary’s story is one of resilience, passion, and a deep connection to her craft, and she is eager to continue her journey in the entertainment world.
