Nacee is very talented – John Mahama praises musician for campaign songs

Gospel singer Nacee has earned high praise from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, for his exceptional contributions to the party’s campaign efforts through his music. Mahama highlighted Nacee’s remarkable talent and dedication during an interview with Woerzor TV on December 2, 2024.

Mahama commended the artist for his expertise in sound engineering and his role in creating memorable campaign songs that resonate with the public. Reflecting on Nacee’s contributions, Mahama stated. Whenever someone excels at what they do, it’s important to acknowledge and commend their work. Nacee has composed many of our campaign songs, from Onaapo to the most recent one, Kwen Kwen. He is exceptionally talented, particularly in sound engineering, and I consider him one of the best in Ghana.

The former president elaborated on the unique approach Nacee brings to crafting campaign songs. According to Mahama, the gospel artist takes the time to understand the party’s manifesto, ensuring his compositions align with its vision and messaging. This meticulous process, Mahama noted, enhances the effectiveness of the songs in conveying the party’s goals to the electorate.

He does thorough research and always brings out the best in his work. When the election period comes around, I always call on him to help with a campaign song, and he delivers every time, Mahama said. He added that Nacee’s ability to create impactful music has made him a trusted figure in the NDC’s campaign strategies over the years.

Nacee’s contributions, particularly with the iconic Onaapo during the 2016 elections, have cemented his reputation as a master of campaign music in Ghana. His recent song, Kwen Kwen, continues this tradition, capturing the mood and aspirations of NDC supporters while appealing to a broader audience.

The recognition from Mahama underscores the critical role of music in political campaigns, where it serves not only as a rallying cry for supporters but also as a medium to communicate key messages. For Nacee, this acknowledgment reaffirms his position as a leading figure in blending artistry with political communication.

As the election season unfolds, Nacee’s work is likely to remain central to the NDC’s efforts, reflecting the power of music to inspire, inform, and energize a political movement.
