Ghanaian musician Peter Famiyeh Bozah, popularly known as Fameye, believes his latest song, Very Soon, has immense potential to become a massive hit. Despite trending on TikTok and being featured in numerous dance challenges, Fameye insists the song hasn’t reached its peak yet.
In an interview on Showbiz 360 with Giovani Caleb, Fameye expressed his thoughts on the song's reception, saying, “This song is not yet a hit, not at all. Those creating lyrics and content with it are doing what they like, they should relax.” However, he appreciated the positive attention it has received so far, adding, “I love the way it is going.”
Sharing the inspiration and process behind the track, the Nothing I Get hitmaker revealed that Very Soon was born during a "special moment." Fameye initially recorded part of the song in his hotel room but decided to complete it in a professional studio due to its potential. “When I was recording this song, it was a special moment…three weeks ago, I was in Atlanta and heard Willis Beatz was also in town, so I linked up with him to do something in my hotel room,” he shared.
Fameye recalled that Willis Beatz had sent him the beat six months earlier, but he hadn’t paid much attention to it until this particular session. “Then he played the beats, and he insisted we should use it because it was a special one.” The surroundings also played a significant role in inspiring the song’s creation. “At that moment, I was in heaven, sleeping on the thirtieth floor, surrounded by glass all over,” he said.
Interestingly, Fameye didn’t write down the lyrics for the song. Instead, they flowed naturally during the session. “The lyrics just came out… After 8 bars, I stopped recording and told Willis this song is a hit, so I will continue the rest in a studio. I knew the potential of the song.”
Very Soon was officially released on September 11, coinciding with Fameye’s 30th birthday. While the song has already captured fans’ attention, the rapper is confident its best days are yet to come.
