It's frustrating if you can't remember your password to an important website and apps. Meanwhile saving a password in a browser is a bad practice as anyone who get hold of your phone or laptop you've already logged in will have access to those websites and apps and therefore your information could be compromised.

There is an app called PASSWORD MANAGER which play a major role in saving forgotten passwords.

A password manager is an app on your phone, tablet or computer that stores your passwords, so you don’t need to remember them. All you need to remember is only one password which is the master password.

Once you’ve logged into the password manager using a ‘master' password, it will generate and remember your passwords for all your online accounts. Many password managers can also enter your passwords into websites and apps automatically, so you don't even have to type them in every time you log in.

There are lots of different password managers, many of which you can use for free if you accept certain limitations. So it's worth searching for online reviews, and finding one that meets your requirements.

Below are some examples of password manager applications:

  1. LASTPASS: This is available for a range of operating systems, including mobile devices. It can generate and store passwords, and manage them across multiple devices.
  2. 1PASSWORD: It is available for Windows and Mac computers as well as mobile devices running iOS, Android and Windows Phone. As well as generating and storing passwords, 1Password can be used to hold other confidential documents. It offers password synchronisation through the free Dropbox cloud service where encrypted copies of all 1Password data are shared between your machines.
  3. KEEPASS: This is also available for Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. It is an open source password manager which is free and makes it easier for security experts to check its program code and identify potential security problems.
