DONE DEAL: ASANTE KOTOKO SET TO SIGN NEW LEFT BACK

From the last update I made you know that the transfer of Samuel was very tricky but Asante Kotoko just had to play their cards well to put him down to themselves. He becomes free in the coming days and anyone who can get him here in Ghana has to be in with a mouth watering deal that would shove him away from any foreign deal.

The technical team is now eager to add him to their list of left backs as they surge forward to build a formidable team for both local and Africa. It's now in the hands of the porcupine warriors to do the most.

Those who remember the 2016 elections know that NPP hijacked Multimedia. The amount involved was in excess of 100,000 Ghana Cedis. This is how people who didn't want anything invested in the Nana brand.

When victory was won, the first place I went to was Nana's house.not that Nana knew me or would recognize me. His house became a public space for everyone who wanted change. We ate, enjoyed—it felt liberating.

Then came the swearing-in.  The first thing Nana did after winning power was appoint over 100 ministers. At that very moment, my boss told me, "Isaac, I don't feel good about this government." Then the corruption scandals started. The painful part is, in some cases, even while investigations were ongoing, Nana himself would exonerate these persons and kill the drive of those tasked to dig further.  Then we started borrowing, exceeding all our fears, and going against his promise not to borrow recklessly. We had a Finance Minister whose company benefited when we borrowed, so it became an incentive to borrow.  Before COVID, before Russia and Ukraine, we started receiving warning signs. These incidents only gave our government excuses. Why did we suffer more than other African countries? Because we were already on our way down.

As bad as Mahama was, he left this government a reasonably protected economy. We had the Heritage Fund; today, it is empty because it was used to finance Free SHS, which is not bad. We had the Stabilization Fund, which became an initial buffer against COVID.
