NDC has reportedly intercepted two prominent officials of the NPP who were allegedly to flee away.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reportedly intercepted two prominent officials of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who were allegedly attempting to flee the country. The NDC, now victorious in the 2024 elections, has vowed to prosecute these individuals along with any other corrupt officials from the outgoing administration.

Malik Basintale, the NDC’s Deputy Communication Officer, confirmed the incident and emphasized the party's commitment to holding corrupt officials accountable. He stated that this action is part of the NDC’s broader strategy to address corruption and restore public trust in governance.

The move has garnered mixed reactions, with many Ghanaians expressing support for the party’s firm stance on corruption. Hopeson Adorye also weighed in, asserting that these individuals should remain in the country to face justice and answer for their alleged misconduct.

In a social media post, Basintale reinforced the NDC’s resolve, declaring, “Unless they escape on eagle backs, there is no room for them again around any border. Stay calm…We’ve caught two already.”

NDC ‘Arrests’ Two Popular NPP Officials Trying To Ran Out Of The Country, Promises To Prosecute Them And Any Other Corrupt Official

In the wake of the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) victory in the 2024 elections, the party has begun taking steps to hold corrupt government officials accountable.

According to Malik Basintale, the deputy communication officer for the NDC, two government appointees attempting to flee the country have already been prevented from doing so.

This move is part of a broader effort by the NDC to investigate and prosecute officials from the outgoing government who have been implicated in corrupt practices.

The party’s stance on corruption has resonated with many Ghanaians, who have grown increasingly frustrated with the perceived lack of accountability in government.

Hopeson Adorye claims that he wants these individuals to remain in the country to face justice and account for their alleged misdeeds.

Malik Basintale echoed this sentiment in a separate social media post, stating that corrupt officials have “no way out of the country unless they fly on the back of an eagle.”

Basintale’s post reads: “Unless they escape on eagle backs, there is no room for them again around any border. Stay calm…We’ve caught 2 already.
