The Ghana Police Service has arrested eight individuals in connection with an attack on the Metro Mass Transit (MMT) workshop in Sunyani, Bono Region. The arrests followed an incident on December 9, 2024, where the suspects allegedly stormed the workshop premises, threatened workers, and disrupted operations.
According to a statement released by the police on December 10, the suspects were identified as Issakah Taufiq, Abudu Isaiah, Abdul Latif Mohammed, Mohammed Azandoro, Alhassan Issah, Amadu Mohammed, Abdulai Adams, and Abdulai Ibrahim. The Rapid Response Team in the area acted swiftly after receiving a distress call from the workshop, leading to the successful apprehension of the suspects.
The police report revealed that the individuals unlawfully entered the facility and intimidated staff, forcing them to vacate their offices. Their actions created fear and disrupted the day-to-day activities of the workshop. Law enforcement personnel were quick to restore calm, preventing the situation from escalating further.
