As Bolton defeats Huddersfield in the EFL Trophy, Jordi Osei-Tutu excels.

At the Toughsheet Community Stadium, Bolton Wanderers easily defeated Huddersfield Town 3-1 to advance to the EFL Trophy Round of 16.

Ghanaian defender Jordi Osei-Tutu, who was born in England, played a key role in a lively performance by securing an important assist.

When Klaidi Lolos' header tucked into the bottom corner after Osei-Tutu's inch-perfect cross in the 40th minute, the home team broke the tie. After the interval, Bolton controlled possession but Huddersfield found it difficult to reply.

After a tidy setup by Dion Charles, Aaron Collins scored from close range to double the lead in the 83rd minute. Collins' second goal, a superb finish into the bottom right corner five minutes later, virtually sealed Bolton's triumph.

Josh Dacres-Cogley unintentionally diverted the ball into his own net in the 90th minute, resulting in a late consolation goal that left the score at 3-1.

Following two draws, Bolton's victory reduces Huddersfield's head-to-head lead to 6-4. Bolton then turns their attention to their matchup with Wigan in League One on December 14.
