After a two-week break to let players, officials, and supporters take part in the country's general elections on December 7, the Ghana Premier League returns on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

Eight games at different locations begin Matchweek 13, laying the groundwork for an explosive comeback. In an attempt to salvage their season, Nations FC travels to Sogakope to play the Accra Lions, while FC Samartex 1996, the reigning champions, will host Heart of Lions.

Vision FC hopes to recover as they welcome Medeama SC to the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Accra, while Legon Cities will play Bechem United at the University of Ghana Stadium.

At Tamale's Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Karela United plays Gold Stars FC, and Nsoatreman FC hosts Dreams FC.

Another event to watch this weekend is the Bono derby between Aduana FC and Berekum Chelsea at Golden City Park.

Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will square off in the much-anticipated Super Clash at Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 15.

The match should have the drama and intensity that characterize Ghana's greatest football rivalry, as both teams are hoping for a jump in form.

As teams compete for vital points in the early going of the season, the Premier League's return promises exciting action.

Jose Mourinho: I hope Nico Williams joins Real Madrid.

Real Madrid is hoping to sign Ghanaian-born Spain international Nico Williams, according to seasoned Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho.

Williams chose to remain at Athletic Bilbao despite being Barcelona's top summer transfer target.

In the hopes that the Ghanaian winger will join Real Madrid, Mourinho, the current head coach of Fenerbahce, has ranked Williams higher than Barcelona's Lamine Yamal.

"Everyone in the Euros was saying Yamal, Yamal, Yamal...Although he is a great youngster, I personally like Nico Williams better. Cope remarked, "I hope he ends up at Real Madrid."

The two were essential to Spain's victory in the 2024 UEFA European Champions, which took place in Germany a few months ago.

When Spain defeated England 2-1 to win the title, Williams scored the first goal.

This season, the 21-year-old has made 21 appearances, contributing five assists and two goals.
