Patience Mensah, the National Sports Authority's (NSA) public relations officer, has reassured supporters that the Baba Yara Stadium's pitch will be in excellent shape for Sunday's eagerly awaited Super Clash between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
This promise comes after Alex Manu, the chairman of the Ashanti Regional Circles, expressed disapproval of the pitch's state following Kotoko's FA Cup round-of-64 encounter against Future Stars.
Mensah did, however, convey his confidence that the pitch would be prepared for the important game thanks to the continuous upkeep.
"We are certain that the pitch will be in pristine condition for the Super Clash, even though faults occur with constant use." The surface was in excellent condition throughout the Milo Games.
Mensah also acknowledged the pitch's wear and tear but emphasized the long-term advantages of identifying young talent, explaining that the NSA's dedication to promoting sports led to the decision to hold the Milo Games despite the improvements.
In a match that could be crucial to their pursuit of the league crown, Kotoko, now in seventh place with 18 points, will take on Hearts of Oak, in sixth place with 19 points
