For the forthcoming Ghana Premier League match against Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko defender Gilbalni O'Neil Ndongani Samba has announced that his team is ready.

Matchday 13 of the domestic top flight will take place on Sunday afternoon at the Baba Yara Stadium, where Ghana's two most prestigious clubs will square off.

In a media interview, Samba revealed that his team is prepared to take on bitter rivals in the eagerly awaited match.

"We are prepared and focused for the game on Sunday. We are not under any pressure, even if it is a big match. Being under pressure is common, but for us, it is good pressure.

"I always want to win, so on Sunday, we will win the Democracy Cup." I will beg our supporters to keep cheering for the team, and I swear that we will make things simple on Sunday.

When Kotoko defeated Hearts of Oak to win the first Democracy Cup in July 2024, the Congolese center-back was named Man of the Match.

When he plays Hearts of Oak in Kumasi this Sunday, he will be looking to put on another outstanding display.

Twelve games into the season, the 24-year-old has made nine appearances in the Ghana Premier League.

Kwesi Appiah: "I am not willing to bring any Sudanese players to Ghana ever again."

Kwesi Appiah, the head coach of the Sudanese national team, has declared that he will never again bring any Sudanese players to Ghana.

His remarks follow the alleged absconding of two Sudanese players, Abdoel Karem Yagoub and Esmat Abdulhamid, from the team's hotel on October 12, when they traveled to the United States for a friendly match against DC United.

Earlier, the players had asked for permission to change money but did not get it.

But CCTV footage showed that the players had left the team's hotel without anyone knowing where they were.

Appiah, who also acts as Asante Kotoko's Head of Sporting Affairs, reflects on the regrettable circumstance and declares that he will not introduce any Sudanese players to the nation.

However, he disclosed that Ramadan Agab, the captain of Sudan, had stated his desire to play for the Porcupine Warriors in the future.

He told Asempa FM, "The truth is that I am not willing to bring any players to Ghana because of the two players who ran away from the Asante Kotoko camp, but the Sudan captain says he would want to play for Asante Kotoko one day. At the moment, I am not interested in bringing a Sudanese player to Ghana."
