Aboubakar Ouattara, the head coach of Hearts of Oak, acknowledges the importance of Sunday's Super Clash matchup against Asante Kotoko and highlights both sides' will to win.

Ouattara, whose team has lost to Kotoko in the last three games, has announced that both teams will be looking to win the season's first Super Clash.

"It is a difficult game, and both teams are upset. We believe we do not deserve to be in that situation, thus we need the points. We must win the matches if we hope to surpass it. I will urge them once more," Ouattara told 3Sports.

Hearts of Oak is now only one point ahead of Kotoko in sixth place with 19 points. Ouattara's team would move into the top four with a victory at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, which would be a big step in their attempt to rebuild their reputation following a sluggish start to the season.

In recent games, the Phobians have proven resilient, winning crucial victories against Young Apostles, Medeama, and Karela United, especially in difficult road sites.

Ouattara is relying on his team's dedication and impressive play to defeat Kotoko, who have dominated their previous meetings.

Sudan's head coach, Kwesi Appiah, has commended the contributions of assistant coaches Eric Amponsah and Ignatius Osei Fosu.

After agreeing to a three-year contract with the Sudanese Football Association earlier this year, Osei Fosu, a former coach of Dreams FC and Medeama SC, was unveiled alongside Appiah.

After Fatau Dauda resigned, Amponsah joined the technical as the goalkeeper's trainer.

In an interview, Appiah commended his fellow citizens for their contributions.

"I have received assistance from Eric Amponsah and Ignatius. The 63-year-old told Asempa FM, "Ignatius is also an analyst who helps prepare the team for every game."

Because of the circumstances we are in, they constantly strive to give it their all.

"The assistant coaches are doing an amazing job because Osei Fosu, in particular, continually tells the players to give their best and make their people back home proud," he continued.

Under the leadership of Kwesi Appiah and his technical staff, Sudan has qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) competition, which will take place in Morocco the following year.

Additionally, the Falcons of Jediane are on track to earn a spot in the 2026 World Cup.
