Ahead of their eagerly awaited matchup with rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday, December 15, Ghana Premier League superpower Asante Kotoko has announced the formal introduction of their newest addition, Kwame Poku, to supporters.

This Saturday, the Porcupine Warriors will play the Phobians at the storied Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Kickoff is sure to be one of the most exciting games of the season.

Fans will get the opportunity to greet Kwame Poku, who recently signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the team, before the game.

"Official presentation of our latest addition to the supporters before kick-off," Kotoko wrote in a post on X for confirmation of the presentation.

After an incredible season with Kotoko in 2020–21, in which he scored six goals and provided three assists in just 16 games, Kwame Poku, 27, is back with the team.

His outstanding achievements led to a transfer to Olympique Khouribga of Morocco and then to USM Alger in Algeria.

Kwame Poku has stated that he is thrilled to be back at Asante Kotoko and is determined to give the team his all.

Kwame Poku needs our emotional and psychological support, says Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum.

Prosper Narteh Ogum, the head coach of Asante Kotoko, has emphasized the importance of offering Kwame Poku, the new recruit, emotional and psychological support.

He claims that doing this will guarantee that the striker performs well and meets expectations during his second tenure with the team.

Kwame Poku is pleased to be back at the club, coach Prosper Narteh Ogum told reporters prior to this weekend's Super Clash matchup against Hearts of Oak.

He is glad to return to the club and fulfill his quota. We are bringing him on board to help score since we know he has a knack for goals. He is either scoring goals or encouraging his teammates to do the same.

Therefore, all we need to do is encourage him emotionally, and psychologically, and to think of himself as a good player. We recruited him on board for that reason. Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum said, "As a coach, I am glad he is returning to the club because he is a wonderful player."

On Sunday, December 15, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will square off in the Super Clash.
