According to Kwesi Appiah, Asante Kotoko's head of sporting affairs, the team will shortly name a deputy technical director.
Appiah just resigned from his position as the club's technical director. But the Porcupine Warriors have appointed former coach and club hero Malik Jabir as their new technical director.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member commended Jabir and alluded to the impending appointment of an assistant while outlining the reasoning behind the club's recent adjustments.
"As a former player, Malik Jabir is eager to put in the effort. When he is unable to travel with the squad, his assistant will accompany them and support Prosper Nartey Ogum," Appiah told Asempa FM. "He is eager to travel with the team."
Prosper Narteh Ogum, a former member of the Interim Management Committee (IMC), has been freed of his duties to concentrate on his responsibilities as the club's head coach.
The 2024–25 Ghana Premier League season will return this weekend following a week-long hiatus. Asante Kotoko will play their rivals, Hearts of Oak, in the Matchday 13 fixtures on Sunday at Baba Yara Stadium.
The game will start at 15:00 GMT.
