"I therefore decided to move the streetlights to another warehouse belonging to the Assembly for safekeeping."
The MCE described the accusation of theft as "pure mischief" and urged the public to disregard the claim. He pointed out that he had been in charge of distributing streetlights in the area for the past three years without any incidents of theft.
