New Agricultural Support Programs Rolled Out in Tamale to Boost Productivity
The government has introduced a series of new agricultural support programs in Tamale aimed at empowering local farmers and enhancing agricultural productivity. Speaking at the event, Minister of Agriculture Dr. Kwesi Asante highlighted the importance of these policies, stating, “Our farmers are the backbone of our economy, and it's crucial we provide the right resources to boost productivity and ensure food security.” He emphasized that the government is committed to creating sustainable solutions that benefit both large-scale farmers and smallholder growers.
Another significant aspect of the support program is the focus on modernizing agricultural practices. Local farmers in Tamale have responded positively to these announcements. Aisha Sulemana, a maize farmer, shared her optimism: “This support will make a big difference for us. Better tools, lower costs, and access to markets can change everything.” However, some farmers are cautiously optimistic, noting that past promises have not always been fulfilled.
The government has pledged transparency and accountability, promising to monitor the implementation of these programs closely to ensure their success. These initiatives represent a significant step forward in supporting the agricultural sector in Tamale, which is vital for the region's economy and food supply.
