Ghana's 2024 presidential election has come to a close, and the results are nothing short of historic. The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been defeated by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), with John Dramani Mahama emerging as the winner.
According to the Electoral Commission, Mahama polled 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55% of the valid votes cast, while his closest competitor, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP, secured 4,657,304 votes, representing 41.61% of the valid votes cast.
This decisive victory is a testament to the power of the Ghanaian people, particularly the youth, who played a crucial role in protecting the ballots and ensuring the integrity of the electoral process.
The media and some media personalities also deserves special recognition for their tireless efforts in promoting transparency and accountability throughout the election cycle. Personalities like Kevin Ekow Taylor, Captain Smart, Mugabe Maase, Oheneba Boamah Benie, Comrade Kwesi Pratt Jr., etc were very instrumental in holding the ruling government accountable for their actions, earning them the reputation as "real thorns in the flesh" of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
COMRADE KWESI PRATT JR.
Kwesi Pratt Jnr is a renowned Ghanaian journalist and managing editor of the Insight Newspaper. He is also the Founder and Owner of Pan African Television Network in Ghana.
Mr. Pratt is affiliated with the Socialist Movement of Ghana; and also part of the organizers of the 1995 Kume Preko anti-government demonstration.

He has displayed his responsibility to the state of Ghana; by exposing all elements of corruption especially among government official and members of the ruling New Patriotic Party whose actions and inaction threatens the development of Ghana.
