The family of Joseph Karifa, a 31-year-old motorrider who was brutally attacked by a taxi driver at Ekoase in the Birem North District of the Eastern Region, is demanding justice.
Joseph was left with severe injuries, including head trauma and lacerations on his hands, neck, and chest, after the taxi driver, Asomani, allegedly attacked him with a machete. He spent six days in a coma at the Ridge Hospital in Accra following a referral by a local hospital, the report suggested.
According to Joseph's mother, Diana Mameley, the police have failed to take action against the suspect, who has been walking free since the incident occurred last month. The family is now calling on the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akufo Dampare, and the Eastern Regional Police Command to intervene.
