Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International, has expressed his heartfelt prayers and optimism for a transformative tenure under President-elect John Dramani Mahama. During a courtesy call to the President-elect, Archbishop Duncan-Williams, accompanied by members of the Apostolic Fathers, shared his belief that Mahama’s leadership will herald a positive shift for Ghana, addressing the challenges and criticisms that have marred previous administrations.
In his remarks, Archbishop Duncan-Williams acknowledged Mahama’s resilience and survival through trying times, attributing his return to leadership to divine intervention. He urged the President-elect to lead with vision and purpose, guided by God’s mandate to bring Ghana to a place of renewal and hope.
“I believe that by God’s grace, who preserved you, kept you alive, and allowed you to endure, He will guide and protect you. He will give you the wisdom and courage to steer this nation according to His plan. We pray that during your term, the negative narratives that have plagued governments in this country will shift, and we will witness a new and prosperous Ghana by God’s grace,” Duncan-Williams stated.
The Archbishop also revisited his past prophetic encounters with Mahama, affirming that his return to power was foreseen and divinely orchestrated. According to Duncan-Williams, he had conveyed to Mahama in 2016 that he would need to step aside but would return at the appointed time to complete his mission.
“I recall our discussions in 2016 when I told you that you would have to leave but would return at the right time. In 2020, when we met again with Hon. Elvis in my office, I reiterated that it was not yet your time, but you would come back after 2020,” he recounted.
Duncan-Williams expressed confidence that Mahama’s reelection is an opportunity to fulfill unfinished tasks and restore the nation’s faith in governance. He urged the President-elect to embrace his new mandate with humility and dedication to the collective good of the people.
During the visit, the Archbishop emphasized the need for Ghana to experience a renewal in governance and national development. He prayed for divine wisdom and strength for Mahama to implement policies that would address pressing socio-economic issues and foster unity among citizens.
“We believe that your leadership will be a turning point for this nation. May God empower you to make decisions that uplift the lives of Ghanaians, promote peace, and transform Ghana into a beacon of hope in the region,” Duncan-Williams added.
President-elect John Dramani Mahama expressed gratitude for the prayers and encouragement from Archbishop Duncan-Williams and the Apostolic Fathers. He acknowledged the weight of the mandate entrusted to him and reaffirmed his commitment to working tirelessly to deliver on his promises.
“I am deeply humbled by your words and prayers. This is a time for hard work and dedication, and I assure the people of Ghana that my administration will prioritize their needs and aspirations. Together, we will build a better Ghana,” Mahama said.
As Mahama prepares to take office, the expectations for his administration remain high. His campaign promises of economic recovery, job creation, and social inclusion have resonated with many Ghanaians, who hope for swift action to address the nation’s challenges.
The support from prominent religious leaders like Archbishop Duncan-Williams underscores the collective desire for a leadership that unites and inspires. The Archbishop’s call for a positive shift reflects the broader sentiment among Ghanaians seeking renewal and progress under Mahama’s leadership.
As Ghana transitions into a new chapter, the focus will be on the actions and policies of the Mahama administration. With prayers and goodwill from key figures like Archbishop Duncan-Williams, the nation looks forward to a transformative era that prioritizes the well-being of its people and strengthens its democratic institutions.
This moment marks not just a change in leadership but an opportunity for Ghana to redefine its narrative and chart a course toward a brighter and more prosperous future.
